FC KANSAS CITY AND FUTURA FC ANNOUNCE MERGER

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. (May 13, 2015) - FC Kansas City and Futura FC announced the merger of two elite youth soccer organizations based in the Kansas City metro area.  This new endeavor brings together over 150 teams from across the city.

Futura FounderTodd Logan is truly looking forward to the club “becoming a part of the FCKC professional organization. The future is bright as we seek together to further the development of youth soccer in Kansas City.”

With goals set to develop young athletes to their highest potential, the union is committed to providing quality leadership to teams at all levels – from recreational teams to those competing at the nation’s highest tier.  Futura FC has been one of Kansas City’s most successful soccer organizations for over 20 years and has focused on providing soccer training in a professional, fun environment.  The club’s cornerstone is pursuing excellence through soccer.

Vlatko Andonovski, Head Coach of the FC Kansas City Women’s Professional Team and the Missouri Comets Indoor Team, was named Technical Director of the FC Kansas City Youth Club.

The united club will continue to build on the legacy of Futura FC in combination with FC Kansas City’s championship approach to soccer.  The FC Kansas City ownership organization owns the Men’s Arena Soccer League Missouri Comets and National Women’s Soccer League FC Kansas City Blues, both 2014 champions in their respective leagues.  FC Kansas City sent four of its players to the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Futura Director Brad Childers and founder of Futura Southland states, “One of the most exciting components of this venture is the common mission at the core of the leadership team.”
