PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE.

This training prepares a referee for all levels of SAY.

Training certifies a referee to work 1 year (2 full seasons).

For full information on the Kings Referee program, please go here https://www.kingssoccer.org/Default.aspx?tabid=204982.

You must be at least 13 by March 1st to take the class.

This class is for new referees aged 13 – adult and for current referees who have been refereeing 2 years or less.

This is a 2 day training class for NEW referees.
BOTH classes must be attended in order to complete training.

CURRENT referees who have not completed their training requirements must attend one night of training; night 2 is preferred but night 1 is acceptable if that works better.

Before NIGHT 1, it is required you complete the online training found here

https://www.saysoccer.org/Default.aspx?tabid=507167

Please complete BOTH Laws of the Game AND Build Out Line sections.
It is recommended you review these modules on a desktop or laptop, as the mobile experience is not optimal.

NIGHT 1
Monday, February 24, 2020

Kings Junior High Multipurpose Room

6:00 - 9:00 pm

We will discuss the online modules, SAY rule changes for 2020, and gameday procedures/mechanics.

Before NIGHT 2, it is required that you complete the ONLINE EXAM.  This exam is required for both NEW and CURRENT referees.

NIGHT 2
Monday, March 2, 2020

Kings Junior High Multipurpose Room

6:00 - 9:00 pm

We will review the test, particularly questions that were missed more frequently.  We will also once ago go over rule changes and important game day concepts.

The online test MUST be passed before you are allowed to referee your first game of the spring season.

Please bring a writing utensil to each class.

Referees earn $15-35 per game for Kings’ game which range in age from 6U-19U.

Every year we have interested parties who have scheduling conflicts with training, unfortunately due to the amount of content and the time commitment, Kings does not have any alternate training opportunities scheduled. However, if you are able to obtain training at another SAY club, you may do so and have that club send your certification information to Deb.

Also, if you are USSF certified for 2020, please send me proof of certification and you will be permitted to referee for the Kings Soccer Club.

Any person who wants to become a referee must attend a training class, regardless of age or experience level.
