Introducing the Fit From The Sidelines Program

Welcome to “Fit From The Sidelines,” a program designed to help you be the best soccer parent you can be. Often as parents, we are short on time and don’t take great care of ourselves. Making unhealthy nutrition choices in an attempt to get your little player to a game on time and eating in the car from fast food restaurants – combined with skipping your exercise routine – can have a negative effect on your wellness and your waist line.

As busy working parents, we understand that getting fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is best achieved when you are striving to make the best use of your time and squeezing in activity whenever possible. We also believe that when you have a group all working toward one common goal, it helps keep you motivated and on track.

Herbalife and AYSO have worked to create a new program—“Fit from the Sidelines.” It is designed to get you active during practices and games. Not only can you inspire your own family to get active, but you can also create a sense of community and inspire others to take control of their time and make the best use of every second… after all, every second counts.

Leading by example is a perfect way to set your children up for a healthy and active future. When you make positive choices, you are showing your children the importance of making good nutritional choices and living an active life. When you engage in Fit From The Sidelines activities, you will be setting a wonderful example and getting fit at the same time.

Basics:

For the next ten weeks, we will provide you with fitness tips to help you get started on your personal fitness journey. We want to encourage you to get all of the parents on your team to participate in the AYSO Fit From the Sidelines Workout of the Week at practice and the Game Day Halftime Challenge.

Goals:

Creating a healthy AYSO Community.
Getting active because our lives are becoming very sedentary.
Enjoying fitness because it does not have to be difficult.
Healthy snack choices because our kids deserve it.
Making health and fitness a family affair.

Content:
Each week, I will provide you with:
An article of the week.
